Growing up in rural northeastern Utah, Tim was surrounded by family and hard work. He embraced those two things and made them his life. Receiving his doctorate from Virginia Tech, he enjoys creating and developing new ways to use his Marriage and Family Therapy for intervening in systems, from families to corporations training.
After helping found and run a successful wilderness program, Outback Therapeutic Expeditions, Tim was drawn to focusing on the parents and home life that teens would be returning to. He decided to leave the wilderness, and focus his time and energy solely on educating and supporting families in their home environment after discharge. A natural entrepreneur, Tim found his niche by creating Homeward Bound to support families at critical junctures, and to teach and spread the message of the importance of aftercare support for families in the adolescent treatment industry. He coined the term Family Transition Management, which is successfully used in Earlycare as an intervention, as well as Aftercare following an out of home placement.
Tim's vision and passion in continually improving the experience for teens and their parents following treatment, has led to the development of Family Bridge, a one-of-its-kind online tool to create coordination and connection for teens during and following treatment. He speaks often at professional conferences, church, school and community groups, serves on charity and university boards, and when time permits he loves to "do-the-work" with families in their home. "It's an honor and a thrill to be of help to these engaged and dedicated parents." He says.
Never one to sit around, Tim fills any free time he finds with work projects for his children, cattle and pig farming, horse training, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.

Bryan brings to the table the valuable combination of being educated, experienced, and personable. He received his Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from Brigham Young University and his Doctorate in MFT from Virginia Tech.
Bryan has been part of our team since June of 2005. He has served as clinical director as well as program director. He has been instrumental in developing the Homeward Bound model and is one of the primary authors of our Parent Library.
Bryan is considered one of the best in this industry at supporting parents and teens in the transition home from wilderness and residential programs. He is exceptional at helping parents develop practical approaches to managing even the most difficult teen behavior. His clients describe him as being nonjudgmental, optimistic, and caring. One mother recently said that Bryan "has a miraculous way of isolating the pieces of complex problems, and smoothing them into manageable events."
In clinical terms, he understands the dynamics of oppositional-defiance, ADHD, addiction/abuse, and many other emotional challenges. He is also adept at working with young adults (18 years +) and their parents in helping them "move forward" in life while achieving a more enjoyable, parent-adult child relationship.
On a personal note, Bryan has been married almost 15 years and has four children. When he is not working, he enjoys golfing, playing tennis, relaxing around a campfire, playing games with his children, or simply watching a good suspense-thriller while sitting next to his wife and munching on some good-ole' homemade Kettle Corn.

Kelly received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University, where she also studied Wilderness Education and Youth Leadership. She supplemented this education with language courses, allowing her to broaden her focus on culture, and spend time in various countries. She began working for The Anasazi Foundation while still completing her degree, and soon after chose to pursue a Master of Science in Social Work at Washington University.
Armed with a greater understanding of the challenges facing adolescents and families, she worked in a variety of settings, including, home, wilderness, and residential youth programs. Her experience grew in wilderness education and adoption attachment issues. These skills helped her become an expert in aftercare and in-home support. She is passionate about helping families make successful transitions after treatment, and due to this passion, left her job at a residential treatment center to join the Homeward Bound team in 2006.
When not engrossed in Homeward Bound's endeavors, she enjoys the solitude of exploring the backcountry. She loves literature, history, rock climbing, and anything that makes her laugh.

Rebekah Tayebi received her M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University, specializing in clinical work with children and families. After completing grad school, Rebekah moved to the west coast to work for three years in residential treatment with teenage girls and their families. Through this work, Rebekah gained experience working with addictions/recovery, personality disorders, DBT, adoption issues, and trauma. Rebekah became a part of the Homeward Bound family in 2008, working in their West Coast Office, mainly coaching local families. In her spare time, Rebekah is an avid yogi. She teaches at Breathe, a San Jose studio, instructing hot yoga classes as well as leading teen workshops. Her biggest love is her family and friends and she's grateful for those meaningful relationships.

Ken received his M.S. in Marriage and Therapy at The University of Kentucky. It was during this time that he pioneered treatment for victims of abuse and addiction utilizing the entire family in the treatment process. This work lead to his being the recipient of the Kentucky Colonel Award, the highest honor a citizen can receive for service in the community. After earning his Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy, Ken continued his focus on abuse and addictions. His doctoral dissertation was published in both The American Journal of Family Therapy and The Journal of Marital and Family Therapy.
Ken began his decade long work with teens and their families as a wilderness therapist with Second Nature wilderness programs in Utah and Georgia . He also worked at a residential treatment center for teens, and in private practice.
Focusing on educating and supporting families, Ken has extensive expertise in dealing with substance abuse, compulsive behavior, depression, relationship issues, anxiety, self-esteem and identity confusion. Drawing from several therapeutic orientations including Family systems theory, In Depth Psychology, and Narrative therapy, he focuses on building rapport, while facilitating shifts in self-defeating behavioral patterns and cognition. Working in a family's home, here at Homeward Bound, provides the perfect backdrop for self-discovery and fostering self-reliance needed to shift consciousness and rites of passage in development.
Ken stays busy with his four children, but labels his personal hobbies as "anything outside." Born and raised in Southern California , the weather allowed him year-round access to the great outdoors. Growing up he played football and basketball but singles out surfing as the one sport he whishes he could still do everyday. He has spent a lot of time camping both at work and for pleasure, but is most proud of his "3 greatest "summits": Mt. Fuji , Mauna Kea, and Mt. Whitney .

As a co-founder of Homeward Bound, Roxanne has been a moving force in the mission and direction of our program from it's inception. She now finds herself working mainly in the writing, marketing, admissions, training retreats, parent membership, and client satisfaction arenas. Married to Tim, she conducts pillow-talk conferences almost nightly.
As a high school history teacher, Roxanne has always had an enthusiasm for working with youth, especially the five she is currently raising. She loves their energy and finds great satisfaction in introducing them to new skills and ideas. That same enthusiasm transfers to her joy in teaching and supporting families as they gain greater interpersonal skills and increased peace in their home life.
Home and family fill the rest of Roxanne's full life. She loves organizing and decorating, emergency preparedness, teaching yoga, leading book groups, ballroom dancing, throwing dinner parties, and figuring out the "farm life" she's been roped into. If there's ever a break in the action at work or home, you'll usually find Roxanne hiding on the porch for a few minutes of quiet reading (biographies being her favorite!).

In serving our clients and in managing our team, Dawnie wears many hats: overseeing client records, accounting, billing, drug testing, HR and keeping dozens of plates spinning. Her efficiency and attention to detail keeps the company and it's team reputable and effective.
Being the first person you will likely talk to when you call, you can almost hear the smile and energy that won her a spot as a dancer at Utah State University. She attended LDS Business College and Utah State University where her studies focused on Finance and Accounting. She spent eight years in the public speaking arena as a personal assistant for the motivational speaker Art Berg. Dawnie came to Homeward Bound after spending two years as an Admissions Counselor for a wilderness therapeutic program. She finds this industry fascinating and is inspired to see the positive changes families are able to make through intervention and aftercare.
Dawnie and her wonderful husband, Bryan have three daughters and one son (she's a dedicated scout mother). Her family enjoys 4-wheeling, camping and watching movies together. On her own she enjoys learning about her family lines, antiquing, amateur photography and spending one-on-one time with her kids. You will not find a more loyal and efficient friend or assistant than Dawnie. We don't think she knows how to say no! She has an infectious positive energy and strives to instill it in others.
